RENO, Nev. (March 30, 2015) – Meghan Paracuelles is on her way to the 2015 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship at the Masters in Augusta, Georgia. Paracuelles was the winner of the seven to nine age division at the local competition during the 2014 Barracuda Championship. She’ll have everyone at Reno’s PGA TOUR event rooting for her at the finals on Sunday, April 5, 2015.

After her win at the 16th annual Barracuda Championship at Montrêux Golf & Country Club, Paracuelles went on to win her age division at the subregionals in Elk Grove, California and the regionals at Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, California to qualify for the championship round at the Masters in Augusta. Paracuelles will not only have the opportunity to show off her impressive golf skills and technique on an international stage, but she has the chance to play side-by-side with the best of the best on the PGA TOUR.

“The best thing about the Drive, Chip & Putt Championship is it gives us the chance to witness golf’s future,” said Chris Hoff, executive director of the Barracuda Championship. “We are even more excited that one of the young golfers who competed at our local event at 2014 Barracuda Championship has made it all the way to the finals. We are all cheering for her.”

Meghan Paracuelles is nine years old and has been playing golf with her younger brother and older sister since she was five. When asked how she got started with the timeless sport, Parcuelles answered, “I just picked up a club one day and discovered I was good at it.” Described by her parents and coaches as having a “natural swing,” Paracuelles has a bright future in the sport and is sure to be a contender at the 2015 Drive, Chip & Putt Championship.

The Drive, Chip & Putt national junior golf skills competition is sponsored by the United State Golf Association, Masters Tournament, and the PGA of America and is open to young golfers ages 7-15. Registration for the 2016 Championship is now open. The 17th annual Barracuda Championship will again host the local competition and subregional qualifier on Saturday, August 8 during the PGA TOUR event at Montrêux Golf & Country Club.
