RENO OPEN ROUND ONE RESULTS
Ben Fox in the Lead for Barracuda Championship Exemption
RENO, Nev. (May 12, 2015) – Hailing from Sherman Oaks, Calif., Ben Fox leads the field after the first round of the reinstated Reno Open with a score of +11 in the Modified Stableford format.
Tying for second place are John Chin from Temecula Calif. and Daniel Maier with +8. The three leaders tee-off for the second and final round of the Reno Open tomorrow, May 13 at 9:56 a.m. at Washoe Golf Course. Other competitors in the hunt for the coveted Barracuda Championship exemption include Nevada Wolf Pack’s own Kevin Lucas and Reno native Jared Becher with +5.
Despite the windy conditions and traditional small greens of Washoe Golf Course making scoring particularly challenging for players, all participants have been complimentary of the tournament and host site.
Tee times for round two begin at 7:32 a.m. Wednesday, May 13 with Michael Wilson and Cole Trip from Reno, Nev. and John Tovar from Fillmore, Calif. Tournament play is expected to wrap up at approximately 2 p.m. with a ceremony celebrating the Reno Open champion and winner of the Barracuda Championship PGA TOUR event exemption to follow thereafter.
