Reno Open Gives Amateur Golfers Chance to Play with the Pros

Registration now open for May 16 – 17 Reno Open Tournament

RENO, Nev. (April 11, 2017) – The rare chance to win exemption into a PGA TOUR event returns May 16-17 at the Reno Open. Registration is now open for the two-day, Modified Stableford format tournament held at Washoe Golf Course in Reno, Nev. which gives amateurs and pros the chance to compete in the 2017 Barracuda Championship.

“The Reno Open is a unique chance for up-and-comers to earn a spot in a PGA TOUR event,” said Chris Hoff, tournament director for Barracuda Championship. “The Modified Stableford format makes for an exciting two days and will give a little preview of what is to come at the Barracuda Championship.“

The winner of the Reno Open will take home the cash purse as well as a coveted spot in the 19th annual Barracuda Championship PGA TOUR event set for July 31-Aug. 6 at Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev. The exemption gives the opportunity for amateur and professional golfers to compete against renowned PGA TOUR professionals like Gary Woodland, JJ Henry, Geoff Ogilvy and last year’s champion Greg Chalmers.

Early registration is encouraged as space is limited. Entry is $600 per person and includes a two-night stay at Eldorado Resort Casino and breakfast and lunch on both days. To reserve a spot in the tournament or for more information about any of the Barracuda Championship events visit
