RENO, Nev. (May 17, 2017) – Cody Blick wins the 2017 Reno Open and exemption to the Barracuda Championship PGA TOUR event with a score of 24 in the Modified Stableford format tournament. The two-day tournament took place at Washoe Golf Course for the third year in a row after a nearly 70-year hiatus.

“We had a great turnout this year with about 50 players from around the country including some local talent,” said Chris Hoff, executive director of the Barracuda Championship. “This is a unique opportunity to have a chance at a cash purse and an exemption into a PGA TOUR event. Congratulations to Cody. We are excited to see him at the Barracuda Championship this year.”

This will be Blick’s first PGA TOUR event. After spending three and a half years at San Jose State, Blick left to Q-School (qualifying school) and joined the Canadian Tour. He has also previously played in the Golden State Golf Tour.

Jared Becher, a Reno local and Washoe Golf Course employee, came in second with a score of 23 and Tye Gabriel of Portland, Ore., ended the day with 22 points.

The Barracuda Championship PGA TOUR event will take place July 31 through August 6. Proceeds from both tournaments benefit the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation.
