RENO, Nev. (October 14, 2016) – At last night’s first Putt-Putt to Give-Give event held at The Discovery, Barracuda Championship announced one of the largest donations to a single organization to date. The $50,000 check was presented to The Discovery, which will be matched to equal $100,000.

“Our community is what makes us and our tournament great and we make it our mission to give back and show our support to an incredible community,” Chris Hoff, tournament director for the Barracuda Championship. “In addition to continuing last year’s week of giving, the tournament has generated more than $382,000 so far this year.”

The event was held as a culmination of this year’s Week of Giving, which celebrates the 2016 tournament and a year of giving back to the Reno-Tahoe community. Guests enjoyed light refreshments, appetizers and mingled with Barracuda Championship staff, sponsors, week of giving charities and members of the Reno Tahoe Open Foundation Board.

In its second year, to celebrate Barracuda Championship’s Week of Giving, or #CudaChampCharity, staff and members of the RTOF Board presented checks and volunteered their time including helping serve dinner at Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows, worked at the Sky Tavern Ski Swap.

The Week of Giving was possible with the help of generous sponsors including NV Energy, ABC Fire and Cylinder Service, Nature’s Bakery, Reno Renegades, Montrêux Golf & Country Club and Barracuda Networks and many others.
