Barracuda Championship and Operation Backpack Team Up
Free Tournament Admission Offered with Donation July 2
Reno, Nev. (June 20, 2016) — Bring a new backpack to the 2016 Barracuda Championship Saturday, July 2 from 8:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and receive free entry that day. Donations will be accepted at the main entrance near the VIP shuttle area.
“Being able to give back to our community like this is a major part of the Barracuda Championship year-round,” said Andrea Quiruz, director of marketing and special events. “We hope the community can rally to help some local children and enjoy a day at the tournament.”
Volunteers of America’s Operation Backpack, which runs July 1 – July 24, aims to provide local youth in need with new backpacks and school supplies – tools they need to achieve academic success.
Operation Backpack seeks to provide some sense of normalcy and remove one obstacle from homeless students’ lives. With a new backpack and new school supplies, these children can start the school year on more even footing.
The 18th annual Barracuda Championship, an official PGA TOUR event, takes place June 27-July 3, 2016 at Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev.
